Students are thriving, attending school consistently and interacting well their peers. High performing teens are producing a ripple effect and reducing chronic absenteeism and drop-out statistics at their local schools.
Teens are exploring their neighborhoods, attending college and trade school tours, arts festivals and educational events that feed both their minds and souls.
Local businesses are investing employee time in our program weekly so that their top-notch staff can personally model ethical behavior and demonstrate the expertise and skills that students need to succeed.
Leaders from industries of all types are tapping into this under-utilized field of diamonds and building their workforce with raw, untouched talent previously considered unemployable.
Students, their family members, staff, and community leaders are working together in unity, experiencing success by fulfilling their commitments as good citizens; and living lives grounded in values and ethics.

The once neglected Shady Lane Presbyterian Church has been transformed into an inviting, inclusive Community Outreach Center where all who enter feel welcome and valued.
We are caring adults who provide insight and guidance to disconnected teens who are at risk of becoming angry, frustrated, unemployable adults with drug, alcohol, and violence issues. We mentor, develop and empower teens by helping them attain certifications, explore and prepare for 21st century careers, build character, and apply skills needed to earn a stable, living wage income
Our Tribe: We are a diverse and mutually supportive community of caring adults; teens; their family members; business and community leaders; residents and volunteers – individuals who look to enhance the life-changing decisions being made by teens in our community.
Our Cause: We are fighting FOR strong families and empowered teens who understand their worth and are hopeful about tomorrow. Teens who are willing to work hard, study hard and learn to support themselves and their community.
Our Space: Our tribe engages students on-site at local schools, detention centers and at our headquarters located at 4117 E. Livingston Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.
We Mentor teens – In group settings, we share our knowledge and life experiences to help teens maintain their motivation when all seems pointless. We purposefully build and encourage healthy relationships among all who participants and embrace the positive side of all of life’s situations. With help from local agencies, colleges and universities we offer a diverse array of programming which provides an open forum for students to design their own solutions to the numerous challenges that they face. As students share their aspirations, we build critical thinking and resilience skills so that they are prepared to succeed in school and beyond. We provide homework help, tutoring, group reading, arts and crafts, relaxation space, group activities, outdoor activities, meetings with community leaders, family events, and transportation into the community and on field trips.
We Develop our Future Workforce – In partnership with local business leaders, we expose teens to the many exciting career opportunities that await them upon graduation, encouraging them to pursue their goals and dreams and prepare for success in the workplace. All THAT is a hub for business and future leader collaborations and local businesses seek graduates of our Workforce Development Program to fill open positions at their organizations. Our All THAT “Badge of Excellence” is widely recognized as a symbol of honor and students are given paid internship opportunities where they are hired on as permanent employees after completing a successful probation period. We empower our students to take part in exposure field trips and college tours while simultaneous developing ethical skills that will allow them to soar when they enter the workforce.
We Empower teens – Using evidence and research based tools, we enhance students’ life skills so that they are empowered to break the cycle of poverty and despair; will stop the senseless violence; and can thrive in their overall well-being. Students participate in cooking classes, mock-interviews, entrepreneur and financial literacy seminars where they are empowered to remain substance free, grow the value of every dollar they make, pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, engage in healthy relationships, avoid the abuse of drugs and alcohol and maintain healthy bodies.
As a result of the intervention and prevention measures being implemented by our program, All THAT anticipates that in 2019 more than 500 at-risk youth will participate in the program by year-end with movement in the following areas:
Goal: 80% of teens attending after school programming will improve their grades by one or more grade level.
Goal: 50 or more students participate in paid workforce development training opportunities and will increase their ability to attain and retain employment at a living wage threshold. All THAT assists students in attaining OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certifications to prepare them for quality jobs.
Goal: 80% of teens participating in our after school and summer program attend 4 or more college, technical and trade school, or business exposure tours.
Goal: 80% of teens participating in financial literacy workshops increase their ability to prepare a basic budget and improve their financial management skills. Students learn how to support themselves through employment and become knowledgeable about the amount of money required to afford the basic level of necessities such as, housing, food, transportation, and health care.
Goal: 150+ students and their families participate in the family night or Coffee and Conversation workshops with presentations from community agencies that equip them to eat nutritious foods, find stable housing, engage in their community.
NEXT STEPS OF EXPANSION:
- Establish the All THAT Center for Excellence
- Increase the number of students and schools served
- Enhance program content
- Increase transportation capabilities for students and their families.
- Expand computer lab to include updated hardware and software.
- Provide comfortable furniture, lighting, and engaging photos throughout our facility.
- Increase collaborations with churches, schools, businesses, colleges, and trade schools to recruit caring adults to share their life experiences with our students.
